National TrackOur Mission: To see God glorified, people reconciled, and communities restored in the Arab world. Beirut Baptist SchoolFounded in 1956, Beirut Baptist School is located in Mosaitbeh – a densely populated suburb of Beirut, the Lebanese capital. Beirut Baptist School offers 1,200 students, grades K through 12, a world-class education along with training in the Christian values of humility, compassion, tolerance and equality. A full 95 percent of our students are Muslim, yet the school reaches them daily with a message of love. The school's staff models faithfulness, obedience to God's word and a caring and compassionate approach to education. Our teachers follow a student-centered approach to education and cater to the needs of individual students. Their modern approach to teaching is supported by the evolving school resources, modern labs, extensive computer center and an ever-growing library holding books, research materials and audio visuals; all of which is made possible with help from our partners. Our students have performed exceptionally well on the official Lebanese government exams. Our graduates go on to study in the best universities in Lebanon and abroad. Children and Youth MinistriesThe Baptist Children and Youth Ministry strives to reach young people with God's message in a way they can receive and understand it. This ministry does so through conferences and children camps that includes bible studies and discussion groups. Most of all, the ministry does this through the modeling of our leaders, volunteers from churches across Lebanon and specialized teams from the U.S. The goal is to deliver young people with an understanding of Jesus' love and teachings, and how to apply those teachings to their lives. Leaders talk to them about forgiveness, anger, culpability and remorse. This ministry takes these programs beyond the church and into the shelters and orphanages to many that have never heard God's word, but desperately desire the hope it provides. Marjeyoun Community CenterAs Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development (LSESD) we exist in a part of the world that is ailing and in desperate need for peace and healing. There is an enormous role for the Church to play – a Church that realizes its Biblical mission and so exists for the sake of the world. As fellow Arabs, we pursue a mission to empower the Church in the Arab World through Educational and Social Development. We do so through platforms for Christian witness and ministry relevant to the needs of the community. This project is for the establishment of a Community Center in Marjeyoun casa (South Lebanon) that, with God's grace, will gradually target around 14 villages (majority Muslim) located in an area that is at close proximity from the Israeli border and has as such suffered first from being distanced from the rest of country during the Israeli occupation (1978-2000) and now from the consequences of the summer 2006 war that led to the internal displacement of 25% of the Lebanese population – mainly the people of South Lebanon and the Southern suburb of Beirut. This project proposes the initiation of a platform for Christian ministry in South Lebanon - touching the lives of people through "Living" Jesus Christ and providing community services. The proposed Marjeyoun Community Center is a huge endeavor that would necessitate the coming together of more than one partner to help realize this enormous opportunity for Christian ministry. This being the case, LSESD invites friends and partners to join hands with us that we may together initiate a platform for Christian witness and ministry in South Lebanon.
